[Simcha and Bella, a husband and wife team, are dear ministry partners with Revive Israel in the coastal city of Ashdod south of Tel Aviv. They are one of the first teams to have been sent into a new ministry frontier in association with Revive Israel. After a year of intercession and sharing in this large Israeli town, they have begun to help out with outreach into the community. This is their introduction to the work in Ashdod.]
Our Call and Vision
I (Simcha) am Israeli-born and grew up in a secular kibbutz. After reading the Bible over and over, I realized it was the Word of the God of Israel inspired by His Holy Spirit. I accepted Messiah Yeshua into my heart and was born again in 1978.
Bella was born after the war in a refugee camp in Germany to Holocaust survivor parents. A year later, Bella's family moved to Israel. Bella was an atheist seeking for the truth and found it in the Bible. Following a series of revelations, she became a strong believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and in Yeshua.
Together, we are called to the front lines of the battle to pray and intercede for lost souls. Our goal is to strengthen and unite the body of Yeshua in Ashdod and Israel. We go out to the streets, giving out Bibles, testimony books and tracts, and talking about Messiah Yeshua. We witness to our families, friends and strangers wherever and whenever the Holy Spirit leads us.
Another part of our ministry is to be a witness to unbelievers by opening our home where they can sense the Presence of the Holy Spirit. Our vision is to see centers in different sections of Ashdod, where the spiritually hungry and thirsty can come and eat from the Bread of Life and drink from the well of the Living Water.
We want to see the Lord's commission fulfilled in Ashdod: "But go rather to the lost sheep of the House of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying: The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons." (Matt. 10:6-8)
