Yeshua is our atonement: He is the scapegoat cut off from the land of the living.

"Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel and all their transgressions ... The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited (literally 'cut-off') land." - Leviticus 16:21-22

"For He was cut off from the land of the living. For the transgressions of My people He was stricken." - Isaiah 53:8

Yeshua took all the sin of history on himself. He became completely separated from the love of Father God - in hours of forsaken-ness that we cannot fathom. "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me." - Psalms 22:1, Matthew 27:46

Repentance: We stand before the great harvest. He is seeking harvest workers made ready.

We need to examine our hearts in repentance to see where we stand. To serve God we must be clean and holy, pure vessels. This begins with a prayer of repentance: "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." - Matthew 6:12.

Forgiving others is tied in with our own atonement. "If you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." - Matthew 6:15.

Quality fellowship time

Intercession: We must first of all identify with our people. Intercession is not only prayer. It is also action. We cannot pray for widows and orphans without doing something along with our prayers.

"Therefore Yeshua also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him outside the camp bearing His reproach." - Hebrews 13:12-13

We need to go with Yeshua outside of the camp to bear the reproach.

" ... I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one." - Ezekiel 22:30

There was no one so He stood in the gap Himself. God will ultimately call each of us to stand in the gap for others.

The most significant thing we can do at this time is stand in the gap for the nations.

"Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free and that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?" - Isaiah 58:6-7 [Yom Kippur is a day of fasting.]

After this we all had an unusually strong time of prayer together.

The prophetic end times meaning of the Day of Atonement:

Yeshua's life and ministry 2000 years ago culminated in the feast of Passover, with His being sacrificed as the Passover lamb and rising from the dead three days later on the Feast of First Fruits. Fifty days later on the Feast of Pentecost the Holy Spirit was poured out on the congregation. The Spring feasts received their central fulfillment in the first coming of the Messiah.

The fall feasts of the Day of Trumpets (Rosh HaShana), Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles are still waiting for their culminating fulfillment in the second coming of Yeshua in the last days.

Leadership of the four congregations praying together

The ultimate fulfillment of the Day of Atonement will be in "the great and awesome day of the LORD", the day when Messiah will come back to earth to the sound of the trumpet, in judgment and war, and will gather His elect to Himself. This will not be the day of many trumpet blasts as in the Day of Trumpets. The Day of the Trumpets will find its fulfillment in the trumpet blasts of the seven angels in the tribulation described in Revelations 8. However, THE trumpet blast will herald the fulfillment at the end of the Day of Atonement. Five days AFTER the Day of Atonement comes the Feast of Tabernacles, symbolizing the celebration at the beginning of the Millennial reign of Yeshua.

"Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month on the Day of Atonement." - Leviticus 25:9

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Messiah will rise first." - 1 Thess. 4:16

"Behold the day of the LORD is coming ... Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle and in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives." - Zechariah 14:1, 3-4
