Blow a shofar in Zion ... Call a sacred assembly ... Gather the people ... Let them say, 'Spare your people, O Lord.'" (Joel 2:15-17)
With these words the prophet Joel seeks to arouse us and to enlist us in the rescue of Israel.
"Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, and pity His people ... Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for ... He will cause the rain to come down for you - the former rain to come down for you - the former rain and the latter rain ... The threshing floors will be full of wheat." (Joel 2:17, 23&24)
Joel then promises God's divine response. There will be a latter day outpouring, bringing in a massive harvest in Israel. The key word in verse 17 is "then." When? When the people (the priests) minister before the Lord and cry out to Him on behalf of the Jewish nation.
We, at Tents of Mercy, Revive Israel and Tikkun International, believe it is time to do precisely what the prophet says to do. Our nation Israel, stands in great need of revival. This last days' revival, foretold by all the biblical prophets, is triggered by the actions listed in Joel 2:
We propose to follow these divine instructions in a special gathering called SHOFAR 2008. From September 24th through October 2nd, 2008 we are inviting our friends and ministry partners to join us in nine richly-packed days of worship, touring, insight from God's word, on-site intercession, and a knitting of our hearts and yours.
HOW CAN WE HASTEN THE RETURN OF YESHUA?
We are convinced that the very best way to hasten the return of Yeshua to reign over all the earth from Jerusalem is to gather together here, in Eretz Israel. We hear the shofar of God calling us as Messianic Jews and Gentiles to stand in His presence corporately, to join together intimately and to say with one heart and voice "Spare your people O Lord. Send the latter rain of your Spirit upon the spiritually parched ground of Zion. It is your time to favor her."
WHAT WILL THE EXPERIENCE BE LIKE?

| Blowing the Shofar at Rosh Hashana |
We'll pray, weep, laugh and learn in a rainbow variety of settings including Jerusalem, Nazareth, Haifa, Akko and Tiberias. And the best is that we will be responding in faith to God's mandate to "Blow a shofar," because at the heart of our gathering we'll celebrate the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) together!

WE WANT TO FORGE BONDS OF LOVE
I can think of no time more appropriate, exciting or heightened in expectation for us to meet than the Feast of Trumpets. On behalf of my covenant brothers Asher Intrater, Daniel Juster, Don Finto and myself, I want to invite you to make this pilgrimage. Please come be with us in person - as we know you already are in heart. There's no substitute for physical presence. We want to forge bonds of love that will glorify our Father in heaven. We want to obey Him by blowing a shofar in Zion and gathering together - to take part in the latter rain harvest in His land, Israel.
