From November 1-8, 2005 Tents of Mercy will celebrate what the Lord has done during the first 10 years of congregation planting and humanitarian aid. The event will be international in scope, bringing together friends of the work from many nations. The theme of the conference and tour is "A Door of Faith" taken from Acts 14:27: "Now when they had come and gathered the congregation together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened a door of faith..."
Clearly, in these ten years the Lord has opened a door of faith that has brought to realization the Tents of Mercy vision...to be an oasis of physical aid and spiritual life receiving both Israel's exiles and her native sons. That vision has resulted in the planting of four Messianic congregations in Israel, the distribution of hundreds of thousands of dollars in humanitarian aid and the establishment of small businesses to provide employment.
The purpose of the conference/intercessory tour will be to create an environment in which we can do the following:
Seeking Him together for the next stage of Pioneer Ministry in Israel
God has given us very significant breakthroughs, but He is by no means finished. Therefore we are inviting you to join us in thanking the Lord for what He has done, then seeking Him together for the next ten years of pioneer ministry in Israel. It is no superficial cliché to say that we are "partners." This partnership is holy. We believe strongly that it is time for us to come together from all over the world and get to know each other better. Another term that is often used, but one we really want to live out is "spiritual family." Those who have been giving to and interceding for the ministries of Tents of Mercy during these ten years are family to us. We want to spend time together. We want to show you the Israel we know - the Israel where new congregations are springing up - the Israel where Jews and Arabs love each other in Messiah - the Israel where a most dynamic revival is about to take place.
During the intercessory tour we will be visiting the following sites: the Sea of Galilee, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Akko, Nazareth, Haifa, the Pool of Bethesda, Mount Zion, the steps of the Temple Mount, the Garden Tomb and the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Our vision is to spend quality time together at these locations so that the word of the Lord can come alive inside of us and so that we may "Seek the Lord until He comes and rains righteousness" on this spiritually thirsty land.
The Powerful Dynamic of the Book of Acts must Happen again in Israel!
With the addition of Akko next month, the Tents of Mercy network will include four congregations located in the Haifa Bay-Galilee portion of Israel. This apostolic activity speaks of God's intention to restore the powerful dynamic we read about in the Book of Acts. The original Messianic Jews of Israel were men and women who lived in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit's activity through them. They were unashamed of the Gospel of Yeshua and had no doubt that their Jewish roots played a vital role in who they were as servants of the God of Israel. They met from house to house, shared their possessions with those in need and did a lot of praying. When the Spirit spoke to them, they sent out teams to evangelize and create congregations in new areas where Yeshua was unknown. THIS MUST HAPPEN AGAIN IN ISRAEL.
Therefore we warmly invite you to come to Israel! Our hearts' desire is to worship and to intercede with you to prepare the way for the days ahead. There must be a broad harvest in Israel before Yeshua returns. You have a vital part to play in that harvest. Isaiah wrote: "Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising ... The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls." Isaiah 60:1-3, 10a.
November 1-8 at Tents of Mercy: An Opportunity to Build Up the Walls
In the above passage "foreigners" simply means those who are not physically Jewish. The concept of "building up the walls" speaks of restoration of Israel, as in the Book of Nehemiah. It also points to intercession. Two chapters later Isaiah mentions "watchmen on the walls" in describing the persistent intercession that will cause the full restoration of Israel. These callings are profound. They are for now.
Perhaps you've never been to Israel. Perhaps you've taken a tour, but never connected with the Messianic Jews in the land. Perhaps you've visited, but seen yourself as a tourist or spectator and not as one having a vital impact on the resurrection of Israel to faith in her own Messiah, Yeshua. Perhaps you've been supporting Tents of Mercy, praying with us and reading about the ministry over these ten years, but would like to go deeper by actually seeing what we've been writing about ... and getting to know us personally. If so, this conference and tour are for you.
PLEASE PRAY SERIOUSLY about setting aside these days immediately following the Feast of Tabernacles, this fall in the first week of November. I will be personally involved in the event from beginning to end. Anticipating the blessing of having you here with us day after day stirs my heart. Please come. We will be so honored to be your hosts for an unforgettable time.
