Shavuot All Night Prayer Meeting
By Betty Intrater
On the night of June 7th, Shavuot (Pentecost) eve, we took Joel's
prophecy seriously and came together for an all night prayer meeting at
the Revive Israel center outside of Jerusalem. Many faithful brothers and
sisters in prayer houses and congregations throughout the world joined us
from their own locations.
The Lord led us to divide the night into six watches of two hours each,
dividing the time between praise, prayer and prophetic gifts. Each watch
had a worship leader, a prayer leader and focus on a specific verse.
Teams from Sukkat Hallel, King of Kings, Dugit, Ohalei Rachamim and
Nazareth Prayer house took part.
The overall theme was spiritual revival in the end times (Acts
2:17). The six watches focused on: Unity of the Body (John
17:21), Coming of the Kingdom (Matthew 6:10), Reaching the
Nations (Acts 1:8), Power of Holy Spirit (Acts 4:30),
Salvation of Israel (Romans 11:26), and Coming of Yeshua
(Matthew 23:39). Prayers were also lifted up in over a dozen
languages (Acts 2:9-10).
Over 100 prayer warriors joined us, mostly young adults who rose to the
spiritual challenge. Some stayed for a few hours, others for the entire
night. Messianic pastors Eitan Shishkoff, Hanan Lukatz, Ari Sorko Ram,
Shmuel Birnbaum, Simcha Davidov, Ofir Amitai, Yakim Figueras, and Guy
Cohen gave short exhortations from the word of God.
The atmosphere was electric. Although some felt on the verge of physical
exhaustion, the anointing of the Holy Spirit invigorated us with
excitement and anticipation. At 10AM we ended the event with the
Lord's Supper and the blowing of shofars. Everyone sensed that we
had experienced a historic breakthrough.
We hope to make this all night Shavuot prayer an annual occurrence, as
spoken of by the prophet Joel. We believe it will be a catalyst among the
Body of believers in Israel and worldwide that will help bring forth the
end times events and second coming of Yeshua!
The annual Shavuot picnic, sponsored by the Messianic Jewish Alliance of
Israel, began immediately following the prayer night. This is a time
when Israeli believers meet together for fellowship and celebration at the
Yad HaShmonah grounds in the Judean Hills. Over 1000 from across the
In addition to food and fellowship, the group enjoyed musical
presentations and theatrical performances that were fun for all.
The picnic was a perfect way to end the night of laboring in prayer and
yet another opportunity for the Lord to bring unity to the Body of
believers in Israel.
