At the center of any Spirit-led ministry is prayer and praise. We build an
"altar" where we pour out our hearts in love to God, intercede for the lost
and receive anointing from the Lord. As we transition back toward Jerusalem
this year, the first stage of the ministry will be to set up daily prayer
and praise watches.
Source of Power - In Acts 2 the great revival that
launched the gospel all over the world started with an outpouring of the
Holy Spirit. What led to that outpouring? Prayer and praise. How do we
know? Acts 1:14 says that they were continually in prayer and
intercession as a group. Acts 2:11 says that they were praising God
for His mighty works. These two elements, prayer and praise, are a central
part of our preparation for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Yeshua said
not to proceed in the ministry until we receive the empowerment of the
Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4).
Opportunity for Prophetic Ministry - We believe in the
present day ministry of prophets, as well as the pastors and evangelists.
In a normal congregational setting, the prophet usually does not have an
opportunity to express all his giftings. By providing a setting where there
is time for prayer, praise and waiting on the Lord, the ministry of the
prophet can operate much more effectively. Worship and intercession gave
the prophets the "atmosphere" to prophesy (see II Kings 3:15, II
Chronicles 20:14, I Corinthians 14:26).
House of Prayer for All Nations - Isaiah 56:7
tells us that God's house is to be a "house of prayer for all nations."
Religiosity removes both the prayer and the interracial cooperation. When
we are led by the Spirit, we put prayer as a priority; and when we are
reconciled to God through the cross, we are reconciled to one another. In
a true house of God, there is no room for religiosity or racism. Cooperative
prayer is the antidote. We see our "house of prayer" ministry as having
three concentric circles: first the local watch in Hebrew; then the
watches in other languages of those who have come to pray with us; and
thirdly those who participate with us in cyberspace through the network of
prayer by email.
Vision at the Temple - Around twenty years ago I was
praying in tongues at the wall of the Temple mount in Jerusalem. I was
wearing the traditional Jewish prayer garments of tefillin and tallit.
Suddenly I was "in the Spirit." It was as if a waterfall of light fell
over me from the Temple area above the wall. In a discernment of spirits,
I could see the power of the religious spirits that wanted to prevent the
good news of Yeshua from reaching our people. The Lord showed me that even
with the best of all Messianic Judaism together, we would fail to bring
revival. "What are we to do?" I asked. The Lord's answer was, "Only if
there is a network of prayer in which the international Church from every
nation is praying in agreement will this revival succeed."
Harp and Bowl - Revelation 7 describes the
prayer of the saints in the end times rising like incense from bowls,
which are later poured out on the earth as the judgments of God.
Revelation 15 describes the saints as having victory over the
"beast" as they worshiped with harps in their hands. These two elements of
harp (praise) and bowl (intercession) are essential to the spiritual
warfare of the end times. They stand "behind the scenes" in the spirit as
the gospel goes forth and the forces of evil are judged as we approach the
Second Coming of Yeshua.
