Core of 120 - Asher Intrater

Over recent months, the Lord has been speaking to me about the strategic importance of the core community of 120 that surrounded the 12 apostles of Yeshua (Jesus). This community received the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, and birthed explosive evangelism (3,000 in one day).

Our Revive Israel ministry team has been involved in evangelism, discipleship, prophetic praise watches, strengthening local congregations, giving to the needy, reconciliation with Arab Christians, and sending out local Israelis for international ministry. We now believe that the Lord is directing us to establish as well, our own core community of 120 (plus).

Our hope is that this community will serve as a base for many different kinds of ministry, be a sending agency for new Israeli ministers, and form a nuclear core for explosive revival. I am reminded of the central role that Beth Messiah Congregation in Maryland played in the 1980's to consolidate and launch a variety of ministries that have had widespread influence for the kingdom of God.

In choosing a name for the new congregation, I thought of my two favorite words. The first is Yeshua, meaning both Jesus and Salvation. The second is Ahavah, meaning Love. When we put those two together in Hebrew, we arrive at Ahavat Yeshua, meaning "the love of Jesus".

The following is an article by Eddie and Jackie Santoro, gifted friends and coworkers, expressing their vision for the new congregation. Enjoy!

A New Beginning - Eddie Santoro

Ahavat Yeshua (Love of Yeshua) is the name of our new congregation, which in His mercy and grace will be birthed in a few months through the joining of our hearts and vision with Asher and Betty Intrater and the Revive Israel Team.

From the inception of this vision, there has been a release of blessing and grace in our lives as the Holy Spirit leads us through the process of seeing this new congregation come to life. Although as yet unseen, we are confident that He who created the seen from the unseen will once again pour out His grace and we will see Yeshua's life and power manifest in this new congregation in the Jerusalem area.

The challenges and sacrifice before us are great. We will be leaving Tiferet Yeshua, an established and thriving congregation, and those we love and cherish, to pastor a new community of people. We will be leaving the town that we love. The cost is high, but we believe that sacrifice is always a prerequisite to the release of God's glory.

The fullness of the vision that we and the Revive Israel team carry in our hearts is much more than just the establishment of a congregation. Our desire is to see the gospel of Yeshua the Messiah brought to all of Israel and ultimately to see "saved Israel" fulfill its destiny to impact the entire earth.

Yeshua's final command to His disciples was: "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth."

Evangelize, empower and send are the three words that capture the essence of this final command that Yeshua gave to his disciples before he ascended to heaven. To fully embrace this command, we envision along with the congregation a discipleship training center and an apostolic team to support the planting of new congregations.

Reaching the lost is a central component of the new congregation. It is not enough for us to have great meetings and enjoy the life and presence of Yeshua. We must also have a passion to go after the multitudes of lost Israelis. It is imperative that we take the anointing that we receive and bring it to others. Friendship evangelism is one of the most effective means of reaching the lost. Past experience has demonstrated that this open witness of our faith combined with street evangelism will bring in a harvest of Israelis. The congregation will also host numerous "outreach events" whose goal will be to draw unsaved Israelis to come and visit. It will be a "Hebrew only" congregation, which is one of the most important elements for making Israelis feel "at home."

Power and Freedom in the Holy Spirit: Yeshua said "You must be born again!" and we believe this with all of our hearts. There will be a major focus on seeing new believers delivered from the strongholds of the enemy and empowered by the infilling of the Holy Spirit. We have seen over the years that without this "new birth" Israelis do not grow in their faith.

We are deeply committed to the life of the Spirit in our meetings and long to create an open environment where the Holy Spirit is truly allowed to lead. (See I Corinthians 14:26.)

The Discipleship Center established by Asher Intrater, is already entering its fourth semester. From the beginning, the goal has been to provide a place where young Israeli believers with a calling to leadership can be built up in their giftings and faith, and most importantly in their personal relationship with Yeshua. We want to see our "spiritual DNA" passed on to a new generation of young Israelis who will be the leaders in bringing forth the great end time harvest of this nation.

Planting Teams: The culmination of our vision is to see the expansion of the Kingdom of God through sending out teams to establish new home congregations throughout Israel. These "sister congregations" will be deeply connected to us through the personal relationships that will be developed through years of working together. Each of these groups will be encouraged to develop to their full potential and to become strong and healthy congregations with the ability to reproduce.

Apostolic Team: The planting teams will be under girded and strengthened through the personal investment of members of the apostolic team. The existing bonds of relationship between us will allow an open and free flow of support where needed. Over time, our goal is to see a network of congregations interacting together.

Your Old Men Will Dream Dreams!

Although we are not yet really "old," we do have a dream in our hearts that we have endeavored to impart to you. Your prayers and support in the coming months are vital. We are entering into a challenging end time battle as we go forth and bring the life of Yeshua to the city of Jerusalem, but God is great! As we walk in humility and obedience, His purposes will be fulfilled.

Please continue to pray for us and the entire Revive Israel team. Pray for the deepening of our love relationships with all who are involved in this new work, so that a solid foundation will be formed to bring forth a congregation that is filled with His love.

Please pray for young Israelis to be raised up into leadership in this new work. It is the season in our life for the passing of the baton to the next generation. From the inception, we desire that they be in the forefront of the congregation.
