To Us a Child is Born - Eddie Santoro

Like all things in God, the new congregation was birthed out of a vision that God put in the heart of a few believers. The discipleship center was already up and functioning. A small group of young Israeli believers was already being discipled and impacted by the life and power of God. We were teaching about the biblical standards for a New Covenant congregation in the nation of Israel, but we weren't gathering together and expressing those values in a public setting.

So finally after much prayer and discussion, we decided to proceed with the birthing of a new work in Jerusalem. Jackie and I resigned from our leadership positions with Congregation Tiferet Yeshua in Tel Aviv, sold our home and moved to the Jerusalem area to work alongside Asher and Betty. The already hard working members of the Revive Israel team joined in, and we set about fulfilling what God had put in our hearts.

For several months we gathered as a small group to pray and receive teaching on the foundational principles of this new work. Then on Shabbat, June 10 (a date we chose to parallel the celebration of the Acts 2 Shavout 2000 years ago and the Azusa Street outpouring 100 years ago), this small group of hungry, eager believers, gathered in the upper room at the King of Kings prayer tower to participate in the "official" birthing of the new congregation "Ahavat Yeshua".

The congregation is just a baby. But like all proud parents, the hope that we have in our hearts for the baby's future is big. Please join us in ongoing prayer for the new congregation.
